The mission of Border Patrol Foundation (BPF) is to honor the memory of fallen U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents and provide support and resources to the families. BPF provides support to Border Patrol employees, USBP agents and their families for on- and off-duty deaths, injuries, illnesses, family medical emergencies, special circumstances and student scholarships.

Agent Jarod Dittman was working the midnight shift when he was involved in a single car rollover accident at approximately 1:00 a.m., while he was en route to his assigned area from the Brown Field Station. Another agent found Agent Dittman after he had been ejected from his service vehicle.
Agent Dittman entered on duty with the U.S. Border Patrol on March 5, 2007, as a member of the 660th Session of the Border Patrol Academy. He was assigned to the Brown Field Station immediately after graduation from the Academy. Prior to joining the Border Patrol, Agent Dittman served in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
Agent Dittman was 28 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
